When should I not visit?

Infection Control Challenge logo
To help us to provide the best possible care to your friends and relatives please do not visit if you are unwell.

In particular if you have:

  • Cough, cold or flu-like symptoms
  • Diarrhoea or vomiting
  • Infectious diseases such as Chickenpox
  • Shingles, Mumps, Measles etc.

Please do not visit until 48 hours after the symptoms have stopped.

You must wash your hands with soap and water after using the toilet, before preparing food and eating, especially if you are suffering from symptoms. It is also important to wash you hands after contact with someone who is ill.

If you are unsure please ring the ward and speak to the nurse in charge or click here for further advice and guidance.

If you require further advice/support, please call NHS 111 or speak to your GP.

In most cases children are welcome to visit - your child’s behaviour is your responsibility. Please ask the ward sister or charge nurse before bringing very young children to visit.
