DHFT is dedicated to supporting commercial research.  A key part of our 5 year research strategy is to support and grow commercial research in our hospitals by providing a streamlined study set-up process.

The Research and Development Office has a dedicated Industry Team (pharmaceutical company backgrounds in clinical research) who provide a streamlined process for the set-up of commercially sponsored studies.  The team works closely with the East Midlands CRN to ensure that a quality service is provided i.e. studies are set up as quickly as possible and managed through-out the whole lifecycle.  Studies are set up to ensure compliance with UK and EU legislation related to clinical trials and clinical research.  Following study set-up the Industry Team will actively work to ensure recruitment to time and target, a key NIHR objective.  The Industry Team will also proactively help to resolve any challenges that arise during the study - these will be discussed immediately between the local study team, escalating to the Sponsor where relevant, in order to find a solution.

DHFT is research active in almost every field of healthcare; we will facilitate discussions with our Key Investigators in your field of interest.

If you wish to set up a commercial study at DHFT then please do contact us:  dhft.RandDadmin@nhs.net.
