This page provides public access to the Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust prescribing formulary, and a link to the Joint Area Prescribing formulary. These include medicines that the Trust Drugs and Therapeutics Committee consider to have good evidence for safety, effectiveness and value.

There is a section for medicines that have been approved by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), which provides links to the individual technology appraisals. NICE approved medicines are routinely available at Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where we offer specialist services.

The Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Formulary incorporates a list of medicines which can be prescribed when treatment is initiated for hospital patients under national & local guidelines and policies.
The Formulary is reviewed and updated monthly and is becoming increasingly evidence based.  NICE Guidance which relates to medicines is processed and incorporated in to the Formulary.  We work closely with Directorate Pharmacists, medical staff and with the local Joint Area Prescribing Committee (JAPC) on Formulary choices and guideline development.

For access, navigate the links from the left hand menu. To search for a particular medicine, use the Search box at the top left of this page.
