Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been named in a list of the ‘40 Top Hospitals’ in the UK.

The Trust, which runs the Royal Derby and London Road hospitals, is one of the CHKS 40 Top Hospitals for 2017, an accolade awarded to the 40 top performing CHKS client Trusts.

The list is based on the evaluation of 22 key performance indicators covering safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.

Gavin Boyle, Chief Executive of Derby Teaching Hospitals, said: “I’m delighted that the Trust has been named as one of the UK’s top hospitals. Our teams work hard to improve our services, putting our patients at the heart of everything we do. It’s fantastic to see their efforts recognised in this way.”

Andy Lockwood, Managing Director for Capita Healthcare Decisions, said: “These awards recognise outstanding performance in those areas which we believe are critical to delivering good patient care. We are delighted that Derby Teaching Hospitals is one of our Top Hospitals 2017.”
