New measures to improve parking at Royal Derby Hospital

Published 02/09/2016

New measures are being introduced on two busy car parks, located at the front of the Royal Derby Hospital, to try to free up more spaces for patients and visitors.

From Monday September 5th, the two car parks at the front of the Royal Derby Hospital will become short stay only.

Parking in car parks one and eight will be limited to a maximum stay of three hours. Charging will remain at the hourly rate. Anyone parking here who exceeds the three hour limit will be charged £25. The aim is to deter people from parking for long periods, to ensure that there are short stay spaces available to patients visiting the hospital during the day.

Patients parking here who are delayed for reasons beyond their control will NOT be charged the full amount – patients are asked to speak to staff in the hospital department where their appointment has taken place to make sure they do not have to pay the excess charge.
