Welcome to the Radiotherapy department at the Royal Derby Hospital

Dementia Friends

Dementia Friends

Here at the Royal Derby Hospital, the staff are very keen to improve the patient experience.  Becoming a “dementia friend” is one of many ways in which a number of staff at the Radiotherapy department has aimed to do this.  It is a scheme run by the Alzheimer’s Society and is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition.

You can identify us by our “forget-me-not” blue flower pin badge on our uniforms. These are also pinned up on our staff photos on the wall.

Our departmental Dementia Friends group aims to improve resources for those receiving radiotherapy. If you can think of any way we can offer help and support for dementia patients and their carers please let us know.
