Early Discharge Scheme for Total Knee Patients

This scheme provides a physiotherapy follow up service to specifically support Total Knee Replacement patients after discharge from Royal Derby Hospital.

The service bridges the gap between leaving hospital and starting outpatient physiotherapy. Patients receive a telephone call from a member of the physio team within 72hrs of discharge. This is to check on progress, answer any queries and offer reassurance.

A member of the team can then also arrange to visit the patient in their own home to review progress and check knee function as required.
