Patient Information


 Initial Assessment

Once a referral has been sent and has been accepted by the department, we will in touch to arrange an initial assessment. Those patients who have recently had surgery will be prioritised and will be seen within 2 weeks.

 If you have recently had surgery and were expecting to be seen by a physiotherapist at London Road Community Hospital, and have not received an appointment time within 2 weeks, then please contact the department.

Those patients who have not recently undergone surgery will be contacted via phone call and letter inviting them to contact the department to arrange an appointment.

Please ring 01332 258147 between 08:00 and 16:30 Monday- Friday

An answer machine message is available outside of office hours, please leave a message stating your name, reference number, and daytime contact number and we will return your call the next working day.

If we do you not here from you within 14 days of the letter being sent you will be discharged. If you wish to attend in the future we will require a new referral from your GP/ Referrer.

Failure to attend your appointment

Please be aware that once your appointment is made, if you fail to attend without informing us we will discharge you from Group Rehabilitation and will require a new referral from your GP/Referrer. If you are invited to attend a group or class and fail to attend without informing us for 2 weeks or longer, you will also be discharged and a new referral will be required.

Preparing for you initial assessment

If you are attending a physiotherapy or occupational therapy appointment for your leg please bring a pair of shorts or clothing that will allow the therapist to examine your leg to above your knee.

Please also bring a list of any medication that you take on a regular basis
