Winners: January - March 14

Between January and March a total of 575 nominations were made, all of which received a personalised certificate from chief executive, Sue James.

On 6 May  the overall winners were recognised in the Pride of Derby awards presentation, for going the extra mile for their patients and colleagues.

Winner: Anna Kettlewell, Staff Nurse, Gynae Outpatients Department

Anna demonstrated she was an active member of the team who worked with the Mckinsey Health Institute on a patient experience initiative in the Gynae Outpatients Department.

Anna was100% commited and took time to win the hearts and minds of all staff to ensure all of the team were engaged.

Anna was instrumental in ensuring that all staff understood how important patient experience is and the differences that can be made.

Best behind the scenes member of staff

Winner: Ken Davidson, Domestic, ISS

Ken used his own initiative in a difficult situation which went beyond the call of duty.

He showed great care and compassion.

The judges said that they would like to think that if it was your own relatives some one like Ken would be around.

The judges were impressed by the volume of nominations for the team on ward 404 from both patients and visitors.

There was an overwhelming feeling of patients feeling valued and cared for as individuals.

Winner: Chris Walker, Physiotherapist


Chris demonstrated great leadership skills in the face of multiple challenges, over and above his role. 

It was felt he was an inspiration to other colleagues.
