Creating a hospital where patients choose to come and where staff want to work is important. That's why recognition and reward for staff to thank them for their contributions to the organisation and to patient care is recognised in a number of ways:
Celebrating success
Staff are given the opportunity to highlight their innovation and service development at this annual showcase of good practice. Staff are encouraged to enter a poster describing their idea which is shared with staff across the Trust at the celebrating success event in September. A panel of judges award prizes for the best and most innovative ideas in each category at a special awards evening.
Unsung heroes
Staff nominate their colleagues who have gone above and beyond the requirements of their job description in pursuit of excellent patient care or in support of colleagues. Every year three exceptional members of staff are recognised for their contribution, by the chief executive at a special award ceremony. The winners receive a certificate, bouquet of flowers and bottle of champagne along with a buffet lunch for family and colleagues.
Long service awards
Staff who have achieved long service to the Trust are thanked by the chief executive and presented with a pin badge marking their length of service and a gift voucher to spend in the Westfield shopping centre. The awards form part of the annual celebrating success event.
