Special requirements for specimen collection
If amoebic investigations are required, it is preferable to examine warm freshly produced faeces. 
Please contact the laboratory in advance. 
Please provide relevant clinical details to ensure the correct tests are done and if ?High Risk infection suspected please indicate so the correct safety precautions can be made.

All specimens are routinely examined for the presence of Salmonella, Campylobacter and E. coli O:157.   
Examination for Parasites, Clostridium difficile, Virus's, and other pathogens are carried out where appropriate.
