Special requirements for specimen collection
WEAR STERILE GLOVES AT ALL TIMES. 
Using a sterile needle, inoculate a clean glass microscope slide with the material from the scrape. 
Clearly label the slide (on the inoculated side) using a pencil on the frosted end with the patient's name and hospital number.   
Place the needle in the enrichment broth. Keep container in an upright position.   
Do not send sample via the pneumatic tube system.
