Antibodies to extractable nuclear antigens (ENA) are of use in classification of connective tissue diseases and in providing prognostic information although they are only present in a subset of patients with those diseases. The routine ENA screen includes Ro, La, Sm, RNP, Jo-1 and Scl-70
