INTERPRETING AN OGTT (venous plasma, non-pregnant adult)     DIABETES is confirmed in adults WITH symptoms if fasting glucose is >6.9 OR 2hr OGTT glucose >11.0 OR random glucose >11.0 mmol/L. WITHOUT symptoms, an abnormal fasting/random glucose must be confirmed with a repeat sample. HbA1c can now be used for diagnosis.
