Volunteer patients sought

<< Go back

Following the successful delivery of this year’s medical student exams on behalf of the University of Nottingham, the Trust has been awarded the contract to deliver these for a further three years.

Patient-based teaching is an important part of medical student education. We require volunteer patients who are willing to tell students about their experiences and undergo mock examinations. We want to expand our database of volunteer patients with chronic health conditions, as well as others who are able to help in another capacity.

Volunteers will receive a gratuity payment and taxis to the Royal Derby Hospital can be funded by the Trust. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.  Please contact Lesley Bentley or Kathryn Tarplee on 01332 788169/789258 or at ugderbyexams@nhs.net with any questions.

Alternatively patients can register at: www.derbyhospitals.nhs.uk/education/medical-education/undergraduate-medical-education/volunteer-patients/. Staff from the Medical Education Department are more than happy to visit practices to discuss the exam project in more detail, or to attend Patient Participation Group meetings.
