Mock Inquest – Insight into Coroners’ inquests


Date: 7 November 2017


Venue: Royal Derby Hospital


A course developed in partnership with Dr Robert Hunter, Coroner for Derby and South Derbyshire, Browne Jacobson solicitors and the Trust’s Legal Services department, taking delegates through the inquest process from start to finish. It will include presentations on writing reports for the coroner and giving evidence and will include a mock inquest.

Kidney Study Awareness Day


Date: 13 November 2017


Venue: Lecture Theatre, Education Centre, Royal Derby Hospital


The course provides an opportunity for practice staff to learn more about kidney care. Members of the Trust’s renal team will share information about the importance of being aware of the special care required for patients with kidney conditions, to provide a better experience and improve outcomes for these patients. 


This full-day course is free to attend, but booking is essential.

Motivational Interviewing: One Day Practical Workshop-Intermediate level

Occupational Stress: Understanding and Managing

Healthcare Records on Trial


Date: 13 September 2017


Venue: Royal Derby Hospital


This course will analyse and explain the accountability of the Healthcare Professional, and different ways in which records will be scrutinised. Clinical professional and legal requirements which apply to record keeping will be considered. Common errors in record keeping will be highlighted through trainer led discussions and consideration of real case studies.

Advanced Shoulder Triage Course


Date: 15 September 2017


Venue: Education Centre, the Royal Derby Hospital


A course aimed at GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, A&E SHOs and physiotherapists working in Primary Care or triage clinics to improve clinical assessment skills and enhance understanding about which patients should be referred to Secondary Care for elective or urgent treatment based on research, evidence and national guidelines.
