Patient transport & travel

At Derby Hospitals we aim to make accessing our services easy for all.

There are a number of facilities that make it easier for people with disabilities or limited mobility to use our hospitals. Some of these services include:

  • Disabled parking spaces, close to entrances
  • 30 minute drop off bays
  • Wheelchairs at entrances
  • Hospital buggy

Trouble using car park barriers?

If you have a problem using the ticket machines at the entrances to our car parks please call our car parking office before your arrival so that an attendant can provide alternative arrangements.

When you call please provide your name and car registration number.

Car parking office: 01332 786776

First time visits to the hospital

If you are attending for the first time hospital transport will be arranged by your own GP.

Follow up appointments

For those patients coming back for further appointments - your clinic will arrange hospital transport with you if the nursing or medical staff feel it is appropriate.

There is an eligibility criteria that states: 'only those patients who have a medical need are eligible for hospital transport'.

If you need any further information on how to book hospital transport please discuss this with your own GP in the first instance.
