In 2009 patient Charles Prince, who has Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), found his life looked very bleak with the imminent possibility of him going into a nursing home.
Charles was offered support from the pulmonary rehabilitation team at Derby Hospitals and after only two sessions his breathing was a lot better, and after six weeks he left the wheelchair in the car and walked to the class on his own.
