Generic Instructors Course

Objectives

The course is designed to train potential instructors how to teach the provider course. The course comprises lecture, demonstrations, discussions and practice stations. A manual and pre-course materials are forwarded one month before the course and the candidate is advised to read these carefully. Whilst the course is designed to teach the candidate how to teach adults effectively, it is essential that the candidate has excellent core knowledge of the relevant provider course

Accrediting Body

The generic instructor course is overseen by the Resuscitation Council (UK) and Advanced Life Support Group. Both organisations have a number of sponsoring provider courses that are approved to participate on the course.

Target Group

Only those providers who have successfully completed a provider course and were recommended by the faculty for instructor training are eligible for a place on the Instructor Course.

Duration

The course is spread over three days.

Assessment

The candidates are subject to continuous assessment throughout the 3 day course.

Cost

This course can be booked at a cost of £500. This includes meals and refreshments during the course.
