Our collaboration with Burton Hospitals

Burton Hospitals logo

We have a history of joint working with our colleagues at Burton Hospitals and we are currently exploring ways in which we might work more closely together to provide the best possible care for patients in southern Derbyshire and East Staffordshire.

Developing partnerships is essential to our future success and we are working together to share clinical expertise, best practice and resources to improve the care we can offer, now and into the future, while being smarter about how we spend our money.

It’s vital that any type of partnership working is dedicated to improving the experience and overall care our patients receive.

Our shared vision is to deliver outstanding care for all and both our hospital Trusts are currently considering how we might best work together in the future.

The boards of Burton Hospitals and Derby Teaching Hospitals have now approved the Outline Business Case for a proposed merger between our two organisations. The Outline Business Case document and accompanying appendices, which explain the proposal in more detail, are available below.

News on the progress of this joint work, and what it means for our patients, our staff and members of the public, is explained in our collaboration newsletters. Please see the left hand column to read the newsletters.

A dedicated website has been set up for the collaboration, for easy public access and viewing: http://www.burtonderbycollaboration.co.uk
