Children in heart

Children at the centre of a nation's health

Friday 15 December

We are pleased to announce our first Derbyshire Children’s Hospital Academic Day! It is open to medical students, trainees, Paediatricians, allied professionals who work in paediatrics, GPs, local schools and the wider public who use our services. This is a free event with free lunch.

It will be a platform for trainees/ students to present their audits/ interesting cases and for the hospital to showcase their research activities. Local schools are invited to take part in our schools’ competition. There will be prizes for the different categories. You will be taken through “navigating through our services by a patient”, a parent’s experience in pursuing a cause and a talk from a charity.

We will have seminars on important childhood diseases including “the wheezy toddler”, “who needs a dermatologist”, lectures from experts in public health and oral health in children. Our first annual lecture will be delivered by an Emeritus Professor of Child Health.
