You have probably heard in the news about the controversy around Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) breast implants (for example: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-16391522).
At Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust we don't use these implants either for reconstructive surgery or for cosmetic surgery.
Our current advice to women with PIP breast implants who have had surgery elsewhere continues to be that should they have any questions about their breasts implants, that they should seek clinical advice from their implanting surgeon.
