Pedal your way around the Peaks for your local hospital charity

21 May 2012

Derby Hospitals Charity is asking people to celebrate the end of this year’s National Bike Week by taking part in a 35 mile cycle ride around Carsington Reservoir on Sunday 24 June 2012.

Cycling along 25 miles of traffic free trails and 10 miles of country roads, everyone who takes part will enjoy the Derbyshire Dales at their finest.

The 35 mile circular cycle ride, which starts and finishes at the visitor centre at Carsington Reservoir, will take in sections of both the Tissington and High Peak Trails.

Kerry Brady, the charity’s Events and Community Fundraiser, said: “This fundraising event is a test of stamina, but it isn’t a race so it’s fine for everyone to cycle at their own pace.”

As with all our events, those who take part can support the ward or department that means the most to them so this should hopefully help to give everyone the extra energy required for the tougher parts of the ride.”

Registration is just £12 per person which includes a free t-shirt. Cyclists can register online at www.derbyhospitals.nhs.uk/charityevents or contact Kerry Brady on 01332 786445 or email kerry.brady@derbyhospitals.nhs.uk for more information.
