The Royal Derby Hospital will plate up beef goulash, Spanish omelette and chicken chasseur at its Just Eat restaurant on Thursday as part of celebrations for the European Day of Languages.

Visitors can tuck into Europe’s most popular dishes at Just Eat on Level 5, the Royal Derby Hospital, on Thursday 26 September from 12-2pm.

The lunchtime menu will feature Europe’s signature dishes – beef goulash, pork stroganoff, Spanish omelette, vegetable bolognese, chicken chasseur, Polish dessert Mazurek with English Custard.

Catering staff will wear European hats and the restaurant will be decorated with flags. Visitors can also learn more about Derby Hospitals’ interpreting service by visiting the information stand outside the restaurant.

Paul Brooks, Assistant Director of Patient Experience and Facilities Management, said: “European Day of Languages celebrates the fact that there are over 6,000 languages spoken around the world.

“Our Latvian, Polish, Russian, Slovak and Czech interpreters have become very popular in the last few years - they are among the top ten most frequently used translation services at Derby Hospitals.

“European Day of Languages is a great way for us to celebrate the cultural diversity of our local community. Staff and visitors can get involved by trying European themed food.”

He added: “We are also planning to develop a suite of key information that will be translated into the most popular languages that our patients speak.
