Staying Well this winter

Published 23/12/2015
:

Help yourself and others to stay well this winter, by:

- Getting a flu vaccination
- Heating your home to at least 18 degrees C (65f), if you can
- Seeking immediate advice and help from a pharmacist if you feel unwell
- Keeping an eye on elderly or frail friends, neighbours and relatives
- Getting prescriptions before Christmas Eve – many GPs and Pharmacies will close     over the holidays
- Take your prescribed medicines as directed.

The flu vaccine changes every year to fight the latest strains of flu, so even if you had a jab last winter you need another one this year. The flu jab is completely safe and doesn’t carry the live flu virus so it can’t give you flu.

Contact your GP surgery now to arrange a convenient appointment and get your jab. It’s quick, safe and free for those most at risk from the virus.
