Recruitment website launched in time for 'Superhospital'

Derby Teaching Hospitals has launched a new recruitment website to coincide with the first transmission of ITV’s Superhospital.

The four-part documentary series, which begins on Thursday, June 25, has been filmed at the Royal Derby Hospital and highlights the passion, care and warmth of the staff who work there.

The transmission of the series is likely to attract the attention of a huge number of people and Derby Teaching Hospitals has created a new website to show the benefits of working for the Trust, along with advertising any current vacancies.

Neil Pease, Derby Teaching Hospitals' executive director of workforce, said: "We are looking to recruit a number of staff across a wide range of professional roles.

"Like all major hospitals, we know we will need additional staff to deal with increased demand this winter, so we are hoping to be able to have them in post ready to care for our patients later in the year."

The Trust is looking to recruit around 100 new nurses as well as radiographers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other qualified health staff in a variety of roles.

Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are being used to help drive recruitment.

As the ITV series shows, it is not just doctors and nurses who work at the Royal Derby Hospital. The trust is one of the region's biggest employers, offering a wide range of administrative, clerical and managerial jobs.

Porters, domestic and catering staff, security officers, car park attendants and other ancillary staff all have a crucial role to play.

Trust chief executive Sue James said: "I'm especially pleased that this groundbreaking series will look at the wide range of people who keep our services running day and night, every single day of the year. Without them all, our hospital wouldn't be able to function."

The new website can be found at www.superhospital.co.uk
