Derby Hospitals named in list of 40 Top Hospitals

Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been named in a list of ‘40 Top Hospitals’ in the UK for the second year running.

The Trust, which runs the Royal Derby and London Road hospitals, is one of the CHKS 40Top Hospitals for 2014, an accolade awarded to the 40 top performing CHKS client Trusts.

The ‘Top Hospitals’ listis based on the evaluation of 22 key performance indicators covering safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.

“We are delighted to be included in this list for the second year running” said Derby Hospitals’ Chief Executive Sue James. “Our aim is to be a beacon of excellence in healthcare and this award recognises the quality of care which lies at the heart of everything we do for our patients.”

Jason Harries, managing director, CHKS said “This year we celebrate our 25th anniversary so it is a fitting occasion to reward excellence in the NHS. These awards recognise outstanding performance in those areas which we believe are critical to delivering good patient care. We are delighted that Derby Hospitals is one of our 40 Top Hospitals in this special year for our awards.”
