Join us on the Bridge, say women at the Royal Derby Hospital

Published 07/03/2013
:

Women from the Royal Derby Hospital will come together tomorrow, 8 March, on the two bridges in the main entrance of the Royal Derby Hospital to show their support for International Women's Day.

Thousands of women will join together on bridges across the world to celebrate the achievements of women without regard to their ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political differences.

To mark the day here at the hospital, women will stand together on the bridges on levels 1 and 2 in the main entrance in a quiet and reflective celebration of the day.

Derby Hospitals employs over 6,400 women out of a total workforce of 8,500 and Lynne Evans, senior human resources officer who works for ISS, our partners who provide our cleaning, portering, catering and other important support services, said: “We are encouraging women to come together and add their support to the day by coming to join us on the bridges. This is the first time we have been involved in the event but feel that it’s important to add our support to the campaign.”
