Come and find out how to take part in research at city’s hospitals

Members of the public are being invited to attend a Health Information Talk about ‘Taking Part in Research’ which will take place at the Royal Derby Hospital on Wednesday 12th March.

There will be presentations about research from a patient representative and from Dr Chris Deighton, Consultant Rheumatologist and President of The British Society for Rheumatology.  The Trust’s Research and Development Department will also talk about their work and there will be a question and answer session.

Medical and surgical treatments improve because people take part in research studies and, thanks to them, researchers are learning more about diseases, improving diagnosis and finding new treatments and ways to prevent illnesses. 

Derby Hospitals is currently looking at new ways to involve patients in research.


A variety of research information will also be available and refreshments will be provided in the foyer of the Lecture Theatre, Education Centre, Royal Derby Hospital.
