New Patient Buggy for Hospital

Published 18/02/2014
:

Since the hospital opened, the patient buggy service has been in place for patients and visitors to the Royal Derby Hospital who may have difficulty walking to their appointments. The service is very popular and the buggies and their drivers are kept very busy. It recently became clear that another buggy was needed and the hospital asked the Royal Derby Hospitals League of Friends for their help.

The Royal Derby Hospital League of Friends had already kindly agreed to help purchase around £90,000.00 worth of equipment for various wards and departments in the hospital, but also agreed to purchase a new buggy at a cost of over £8,600.00. The new buggy will be formally handed over to Sue James, Chief Executive, in the main entrance of the hospital at 9:00 am on Wednesday 26th February 2014.

Carl Smart Secretary of the Royal Derby Hospital League of Friends said “We are very proud and pleased that we were able to assist in this way.  All of our members work extremely hard in our shops, tea bars and trolley services at the hospital to raise the money so that every year we are able to help many different areas around the hospital”
