About

The vascular surgery department offers treatment for the full range of arterial, venous and lymphatic diseases. This includes carotid artery surgery, aneurysms of the abdominal aorta, peripheral arterial disease, Ischaemic limbs, varicose veins. The Vascular Surgeons work closely with colleagues in Stroke and Diabetic services to provide surgical input to patients within these departments.

The vascular consultants provide a dedicated vascular on-call service in addition to the cover provided by the General Surgery on-call services.

The five vascular surgeons are supported by a nurse specialist and dedicated radiologist input. All outpatient clinics are undertaken in the surgical outpatient clinic with daycase operating being performed in the general daycase facility and all other operating being performed in the general theatre suite.
