Consultant Radiologist

Rajeev Singh

After completing basic medical rotation in London and East Anglia, acquired his MRCP in 1999. He then in 2000 joined Sheffield Radiology training programme to learn radiology. Here in Sheffield he learned and developed the diagnostic and interventional radiological skills and secured his FRCR in diagnostic and interventional Radiology. He also spent time at the University College Hospitals London to further enhance his interventional and gastrointestinal radiological knowledge and skills. Here working within the national referral centre for pancreatic surgery he developed special interest in imaging of the liver, pancreas and biliary tree. It was here he learned the techniques of Radiofrequency and Microwave Ablation of the liver, Kidney and lung malignancies.

Dr Singh was very keen right from the beginning of his radiology career at Sheffield in bariatric imaging and intervention. Since joining the Derby Hospitals as consultant in 2006, he became an integral part of the bariatric team and very quickly developed the imaging and interventional side of the management of these patients. He was regular speaker and demonstrator on the Derby gastric banding course organised twice a year to train consultants, registrars and nursing staff from around the country. He continues to provide his expertise in this field at the Royal Derby Hospital along with his other subspecialty interest in Liver, biliary tree, pancreas and bowel imaging and intervention.

Outside the medical field, he is a keen sportsman and enjoys playing cricket, football and badminton.
