FAQ

What should I wear?

Your assessment may involve us having a look at the problem area, therefore please dress appropriately (for example, bring shorts or loose trousers if you have a knee problem)

What should I bring?

If you take medication, it is helpful to bring a list with you.

My English isn’t very good…

Please let us know when we organise your first appointment and we will book an interpreter.

Where can I park?

There is car parking on site for patients, which is clearly signposted. Disabled parking is available outside the main entrance.

Is there anything I can do to help myself whilst I am waiting to attend my first appointment?

Often, continuing with gentle activity helps. There are some useful websites in the Links section.

How long will I be coming to physiotherapy for?

This will depend entirely on your problem; your physiotherapist will discuss this with you. We aim to empower patients to work towards self-management of their problem.

I would like to make a written comment/compliment/complaint…

Please fill in a comments slip in the waiting room and post it in the box. Alternatively, please refer to the Patient Advice & Liaison Service PALS

What if I am staff?

We also offer physiotherapy through staff services, staff can be seen at either the Royal Derby Hospital of London Road depending on preference.
