Location

Adult Services:

  • Level 2, ophthalmology outpatients, Kings Treatment Centre, Royal Derby Hospital (best entrance - entrance 6 KTC) 
    • Ripley Hospital Outreach service
    • Ilkeston Community Hospital Outreach service 

 Children's Services:

  • Children's Outpatient Department Children's Hospital, Royal Derby Hospital (best entrance - entrance 18  Children's hospital)
    • Ilkeston Community  Hospital Outreach service 
    • Primary Vision Screening in local Health Centres across the region

About

Orthoptist assess and diagnose disorders of vision, binocular vision (how the eyes work together as a pair) and ocular motility (eye movements). We offer treatment and management of those conditions where appropriate.

We serve both children and adults in an outpatient setting and take referrals from Consultant Ophthalmologists/Peadiatricians, General Practitioner's, Health Visitors, Optometrists and our own primary screening service

The service is provided by qualified Orthoptist supported by visual field technicians and admin staff.

All our Orthoptist are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
