Ward 314


Maternity unit, maternity & gynaecology,  level 3, Royal Derby Hospital   
(best entrances - 20 & 21)


Ward 314 provides 62 beds and cots. There are several 4 bedded rooms with bathroom facilities plus single rooms if you have extra needs.  
Women that have problems in pregnancy may be admitted for short periods of time and are reviewed regularly by the obstetric staff. The ward provides for antenatal inpatient care as well as postnatal. Some transitional neonatal care is also provided. After you have had your baby you may need to stay for a few days if you or your baby need some extra care and advice. 

You will be cared for by midwives, support workers, obstetric & paediatric doctors  

Our maternity service is the only service in the UK to have maintained UNICEF WHO Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative consistently since 1998.   

(Single rooms are available for those who wish to pay for the privacy of a room but are not guaranteed if there is another patient who needs the room for clinical reasons).

  • Day & nightwear for yourself
  • Booklet on screening tests for you and your baby
