Service Description:

We provide a specialist service for the management of people with lymphoedema and chronic oedemas in Southern Derbyshire. We treat people with varying causes of oedema, including primary and secondary lymphoedema, lymphovenous oedema, lipoedema and others. We treat all age groups including children.  

Treatment is given by specialist lymphoedema therapists. The team includes nurses, physiotherapists and an occupational therapist. The treatment provided may include compression bandaging, compression garments, manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), simple lymph drainage (SLD), pneumatic compression pumps and kinesio taping treatment.

Dr Vaughan Keeley, Lead Lymphoedema Consultant

Dr Ruth England, Consultant in Palliative Medicine / Lymphoedema

Dr Mary Lewis, Consultant in Palliative Medicine / Lymphoedema

Dr Jacky Frisby, Consultant in Palliative Medicine / Lymphoedema

Consultant-led Clinics:

Consultant-led clinics are held 3 days a week:

Monday PM - Dr Lewis & Dr Frisby

Thursday AM - Dr Keeley & Dr England

Friday AM - Dr Frisby

Therapy-led Clinics:

These take place Monday to Friday.

We see patients with:

Lymphoedema and chronic oedemas

Referrals are accepted from GPs and Hospital Consultants the following ways:
