Winners - January - March 2012

Between January and March 2012 a total of 124 staff received nominations for the Pride of Derby awards.

Every three months judges pick quarterly winners out of all nominations received.

On 3 March 2012  winners were recognised in the Pride of Derby awards presentation for going the extra mile for their patients and colleagues.

The winners are:

Best behind the scenes member of staff

Rachel Barnard, Medical Secretary

 Rachel was nominated by a patient for showing fantastic customer service.

The judges also noted that Rachel provides excellent support to the digital dictation project, with her enthusiastic and problem solving attitude. She is very proactive with new technology implementations and is an ambassador for change. 

  • “ She is beyond helpful and exceeded expectations” 

 

Best frontline member of staff 

Steph Bond, Registered Nurse, ward 402

Steph was nominated by a colleague who found her an inspiration. Steph has demonstrated how any member of staff should respond when under pressure and is an excellent role model.

  • "She has the skill to make every member of staff, patient or a relative feel like their question is the most important".

Best team

Ward 310 – Care of the elderly and winter pressure ward

Ward 310 were nominated by two relatives of 2 very different patients. The ward made them feel valued and well cared for.

The nominations showed the diversity of care needs that patients attending this ward have and the award recognises the hard work and determination of the team to provide individual care of a consistently high quality across the spectrum of medical conditions.

  • "The award is fitting thank you for the teams’ hard work over the winter".
