Best Frontline May 2015
Best Frontline member of staff

Winner: Clare Neale, Health Care Assistant, Ward 401

The judges chose Clare because she ‘went the extra mile’ by pampering and supporting a distressed and disorientated patient at the end of a very busy day.  Clare ensured the lady was safe and had a good night’s sleep, as well as supporting her fellow colleagues with this task. Clare is an individual that we would all want to care for us when feeling unwell.

Best Behind the Scenes member of staff

Best Team May 2015
Best Team

Winner: Emergency Department, Acute Medicine Business Unit

The judges said it was delightful to hear that the usual high standards of care in ED were well and truly surpassed.  To treat and care for a couple following a traumatic collision and make them feel that their combined needs were addressed above and beyond individual care is inspiring.

The humour and care shown in such a pressured environment is humbling. The patients felt totally safe and cared for.

Best Inspirational Leader May 2015
Inspirational Leader

Winner: Katy Coutts, Lead Physiotherapist, Acute Stroke Unit/Ward 410, Business Unit: Pharmacies and Therapies

The judges felt that Katy’s four nominations identified her as a role model for her team, putting the patient first at the heart of the stroke physiotherapy service.  She supports colleagues and maintains the motivation and wellbeing of all staff.
