Winners: April 2017 - June 2017

In April and May 2017 we received 446 nominations for staff across the Trust from patients, relatives, visitors and staff.


Georgina Foulk POD   
Outstanding Contribution

Winner: Georgina Foulk, Paediatric Theatre Nurse

Georgina Foulk, one of our Paediatric Theatre nurses, has been awarded the first Outstanding Contribution award in our Pride of Derby employee awards scheme. Georgina helped victims of the Manchester terror attack in May, showing bravery and compassion. 


Best Frontline Employee 

Winner: Kaz Nizzer, Trainee ACP

Kaz Nizzer, one of our Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners, won the Pride of Derby best frontline member of staff award for providing extra clinical support in our Children’s Emergency Department in a particularly busy period.

Best Behind the Scenes

Winner: Nicola Windscheffel, Project Support Officer

Our best behind the scenes employee Pride of Derby category was won by Nicola Windscheffel, Project Support Officer. Nicola had worked tirelessly to help ensure patient transport was given a top priority at a demanding time, putting our patients first. 


 

Sarah Hansen POD
Best Inspirational Leader

Winner: Sarah Hansen, Staff Nurse, Emergency Department

Sarah Hansen, one of our Emergency Department staff nurses, has won the Best Inspirational Leader category in our Pride of Derby awards. Sarah acted as a mentor to a student nurse, dedicating her own time to let her observe some emergency surgery.

 


Coronary Care POD
Best Team

Winner: Coronary Care Unit

The team were praised by a member of staff for dealing with a disruptive situation recently with every member of staff remaining professional and focused throughout, caring for their patients and visitors in a professional and compassionate way. Patients have added to this, with comments including ‘the staff show true patient care and are a credit to the hospital’ and ‘every member of staff gave me excellent care and attention.’
