Winners: December 14 - January 15

Between December and January a total of 477 nominations were made, all of which received a personalised certificate from chief executive, Sue James.

On 3 March the overall winners were recognised in the Pride of Derby awards presentation, for going the extra mile for their patients and colleagues.

Best Frontline member of staff

Winner: Simon Craxford, Orthopaedic Registrar

The judges chose Simon because of his work with a young patient with particular behavioural needs. Simon gained his trust, knowing how to work with him, showing patience and understanding.  He recognised the needs of the young man and how to achieve the best results, showing insight and compassion.

Best Behind the Scenes member of staff 

Winner: Kreena Hemraj, Recruitment and Retention Advisor

The judges chose Kreena because of her exceptional efforts in meeting the recruitment needs of the organisation during the particularly busy demands of the winter period.

Winner: Lissa Statham and Michelle Anduiza, Newborn Hearing Screeners, Paediatric Audiology

 


The judges chose the Newborn Hearing Screeners because they felt that these colleagues went beyond their roles in using initiative in helping a baby who was severely ill.

Rachel Loveridge
Inspirational Leader

Winner: Rachel Loveridge, Workforce Systems Lead

Our judges chose Rachel because they felt she embodied everything they would want a leader to be. The member of staff who nominated said: “I have never had a better manager in the whole of my long working life”.

Rachel takes a coaching approach, supports and involves her team, communicates well and is regarded as a shining example of leadership.
