Winners: August - September 14

Between August and September a total of 492 nominations were made, all of which received a personalised certificate from chief executive, Sue James.

On 4 November the overall winners were recognised in the Pride of Derby awards presentation, for going the extra mile for their patients and colleagues.

Winner: Anna Akers, Health Advisor, Genito Urinary Medicine

Anna was chosen by the judges for the work she does in engaging with vulnerable young adults. 

Through her work she develops a relationship of trust with individuals which further inspires trust within the community.

Winner: Amanda Parker, Workplace Health Manager, Organisational Development and Learning

Amanda was chosen by the judges due to her showing compassion and care in the truest sense, and taking initiative outside of her department to support a staff member.  

Her thoughtful behaviour made a real difference to the member of staff and was most appreciated by the judges.

Best Team

Winner: Ward 310, Fran Grant and Dr Patrick MacGoey

The judges felt the nomination from a family shone through with the inspiring words demonstrating the team pulled together to work above and beyond.  

All the team showed that the care and compassion is embedded throughout their daily working lives.

Winner: Mark Croton, Registered Nurse, Ward 205

Mark’s enthusiasm shone through in this category. 

He ensures patients are the centre of everything he does.  He has implemented initiatives on the ward which will have far reaching benefits for his ward team, patients and the wider Trust staff. 

Mark embodies the 6 C's of compassionate care.
