Our supporters
We are always very grateful for all of the donations we receive.
Sometimes people send in a donation to say thank you for the care they or a relative have received or sometimes this is in the form of a donation in memory of a loved one in lieu of flowers at the funeral.
Our supporters like to take part in the events we organise such as the annual sponsored walk around Carsington Water and the Jingle Jog each December, but they also like to organise their own events to raise money for Derby Hospitals Charity. It is fantastic that people make the effort to do this and it is something we actively encourage. All we ask is that they notify Kerry Wood, our community fundraiser, on 01332 786445 or by email kerry.wood@derbyhospitals.nhs.uk so that we are aware of the event. We like to provide as much help and support as we can with sponsor forms, etc.
Some of our supporters like to just send a cheque in the post to the Charity office and don't want any publicity. We always send an official receipt and thank you letter whether the donation is for £5 or £5,000.
Some supporters prefer to visit the Trust to present the money they have raised to staff. We are happy to arrange cheque presentations and take photos as a momento of the visit. Our Trust staff always feel very honoured to meet everyone who has spent time raising money for their ward or department.
