FAQs

Who do I make a cheque payable to?

All cheques should be made payable to Derby Hospitals Charitable Trust. If you want your donation to go to a specific fund-please include a note with your donation telling us where you would like it to go (for example, the children's hospital, coronary care unit or chemotherapy unit).

I'd like my money to go to a specific area of work at the Trust. Is this possible?

With over 180 individual funds relating to different wards and departments throughout the hospital it is very easy for you to make a donation to a specific area. It does help, however, if you can keep your donation as general as possible within that area so staff can use the money in the best possible way. For example a ward might be saving up for a particular item of equipment and your donation could go towards that.

Can I have a receipt for my donation?

Yes we are always happy to provide a receipt for any donation. If you are paying the donation in personally at the hospital you can ask the cashier for one then and there. If you are posting a donation a receipt will be sent to you with your acknowledgement letter.

Where is the fundraising office based?

The office is based on Level 5 in the main acute building at the Royal Derby Hospital. The office is usually open between 8am and 5pm.

Do you have a shop where I can donate my unwanted clothes, bric a brac and books?

I am afraid that Derby Hospitals Charity doesn't  have a shop where these sort of donations can be made. However, clothes and shoes recycling banks are now situated by the front entrance to the London Road Community Hospital and by the pedestrian entrance to the staff car park at the Royal Derby Hospital(over the road from Aldi).  Over 50% of the money raised is donated to the Children's Hospital Charitable Fund.

The various Hospital League of Friends might be interested in your donations of bric a brac and books. Please contact Julie Chapman on 01332 785731 for more information about how you can get in touch with them.
