Start your spring at Carsington!

Derby Hospitals Charity will be holding its annual sponsored spring walk at Carsington Water, Ashbourne, on the first day of Spring - Sunday 25 March 2012 - and we want as many people as possible to come along and join in the fun.
Starting and finishing at the visitor centre at Carsington Reservoir, this 8½ mile walk takes in stunning scenery of the reservoir and the surrounding countryside.
This event will help to raise money for the outside play area on Puffin Ward at the Derbyshire Children’s Hospital, which will be known as the ‘Sunshine Deck’. We are hoping to have new play equipment, soft play flooring, a special sun canopy, seating and LED lighting installed. Improving the outside play area will make such a difference to all of our young patients and their families. The area caters for all children from babies to teenagers and also gives the parents somewhere to sit and watch the children play or have their physiotherapy.
We have already raised half of the money we need, so please join us to help us to make life better for young patients at your local hospital – there’s no better way to enjoy the start of Spring.

Jingle Jog was a great success

The latest version of our Exchange Newsletter is out now
Exchange - Derby Hospitals Charity's newsletter - is sent out to our supporters twice a year and is also available to pick up at various sites around the hospital. We like to keep everyone informed about our work, our fundraising events and how we have helped make patients' lives better here at the Royal Derby Hospital and share our plans for the future. The newsletter also includes photos of supporters who have visited the hospital to present donations or money raised during the previous six months.

Pedal in the Peaks - Sunday 12th June
Derby Hospitals Charity is holding its first ever sponsored cycle ride on Sunday 12th June 2011. Starting and finishing at the visitor centre at Carsington Water Reservoir, the 35 mile Pedal in the Peaks cycle ride takes in parts of the High Peak Trail and Tissington Trail and provides a mixture of 25 miles of traffic free riding and 10 miles on country roads.
