Teen Pride
Teen Pride - in partnership with DCFC

Teen Pride

The Teen Pride project was set up in late 2008 to raise money to provide dedicated facilities for our teenage patients.

Working in partnership with Derby County Football Club, we reached our first target of £40,000 in December 2009. Work on the dedicated teenage outpatient area was completed during summer 2010. We were delighted with the finished result and the area was officially opened in July 2010 by Stephen Bywater, DCFC goalkeeper and Teen pride ambassador.

Fundraising for Teen Pride Phase II – to enhance the facilities available for teenagers who have to spend time on the wards as inpatients – was also very successful and we have now reached our target of £20,000.

British Heart Foundation’s Heart of Derby Appeal

The British Heart Foundation launched the Heart of Derby appeal in autumn 2008 with the aim of raising £107,000 for a third 3D Echocardiogram machine and a new 3D TOE (Trans Oesophageal Echo) probe for the Cardiology department. Sophie Jardine, British Heart Foundation fundraiser, and her supporters have been working extremely hard to raise funds for the appeal. They were thrilled to reach their target in 2010 and hand over the new machine in November 2010.
